Vice President Biden, members of Congress, distinguished guests, our numerous creditors and fellow Americans:

Our Constitution declares that from time to time, the President shall give to Congress information about the state of our union. For 221 years, our leaders have fulfilled this duty. They've done so during periods of prosperity and tranquility. And they've done so in the midst of war and depression; at moments of great strife and great struggle.

It's tempting to look back on these moments and assume that our progress was inevitable -– that America was always destined to succeed, however, it saddens me greatly, as Your elected President, to inform You that this destiny to succeed has become a destination to Doomsville.

Your elected officials; including myself, your senators, your congressmen, your governors, your mayors, your city councilmen, indeed, all way down the line to the local dog-catcher, have let You and all of America down.

America: The United States of America - that great experiment in equality and social justice that was so bravely fought for 235 years ago - has become a third world nation. America is indebted to countries all over the world. Our currency has become so devalued that it's status as the world's reserve currency, known throughout the world as the safe harbor, is on the brink of collapse and will take all of Your hard-earned savings and hard-earned paychecks down the toilet as the yuan, the ruble, the yen, the mark, the franc and the new petro-dollar take its place.

I could stand here all night and jaw-bone about how we've let You down in the important areas of industry and jobs; health-care and Your general wellbeing; Your's and Your childrens lost opportunities for education; about how Your retirement savings have been squandered; about how Your roads, highways and bridges are crumbling due to our short-sighted neglect; about the pitiful state of Your infrastucture that You rely on for clean water and reliable electricty; about how we - Your elected officials have sold Your roads, bridges, government buildings, airports and parking meters to oil-funded Sovereign Wealth Funds, and a hundred, nay, tens of thousands of other vitally important issues that affect You and Your loved ones and Your communities.

But You know all that, or You should if You've been tracking what's been happening to Your Lives, Your Liberties and Your Pursuits of Happiness, so let me move on to the main reason that Your Country is on the brink of collapse.

From January 16, 1919 when the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution was signed into law, or as it is more commonly known, Prohibition, the United States of America has been addicted to petroleum. This was not only approved and signed into law by Your elected officials but also wholeheartedly endorsed by them as they have received hundreds of billions of dollars in campaign donations (see Bribes) to allow this to happen, and to continue it.

Yes, we, Your elected officials knew this was bad for America - but, hey, it was good for us.

Now, tonight, in front of You all I confess that we have sinned. We have sinned against You, and against the Principle and Ideal of America.

We sinned so that we could continue to collect the donations from the petroleum companies, and we sinned because, as Gordon Gecko famously said, "Greed is good."

But now that our stashes of millions and millions of dollars are no good anymore, worthless, just like Your handful of grubby one's and fives, the time has come to 'fess up.

The truth is that Prohibition was the brain-child of John D. Rockefeller so that he could eliminate the competition of home-brewed alcohol fuel that was out-selling his Standard Oil gasoline. It was John D. Rockefeller who supplied the millions of dollars in hard-cash to the Women's Christian Temperance League, so that they could then carry it to Washington D.C. and Your State's capitals and spread it around like manure to Your elected officials in order to grease the vote for Prohibition.

So, for the past ninety-two years, from January 16, 1919 to today, January 25, 2011 America and Americans have been forced to use gasoline instead of home-brewed alcohol fuel.

Actually, this confession of criminal wrong-doing on the part of Your elected officials goes all the way back to July of 1794 when the new government of the new country, the USA, fought it's first war. This war was fought to collect tax dollars to pay for the Revolutionary War. The Federal Government sent troops to Pennsylvania to force the citizens of the USA to pay an excise tax on their home-brewed alcohol fuel which they used in lanterns to provide lighting in their cabins and barns. At the time, these hard-working citizens had only two choices for illumination; make their own alcohol fuel in Stills from crab apples or purchase Whale Oil that sold for $5 per gallon (1794 dollars!). This became known as the Whiskey Rebellion. In short, the Federal Government used force against it's Citizens in order to make them pliable and subservient, instead of being resourceful and self sufficient.

Then again, in 1861, the Federal Government passed another excise tax on home-brewed alcohol fuel of $2.08 per gallon (1861 dollars!). This tax was to pay for the Civil War. Yes, we, Your elected officials, all of us, from the top all the way down to the local level are addicted to fighting wars and then imposing taxes to pay for the wars, on You.

Over the course of our Nation's history it has been You, the Citizen, who has fought the wars and paid the taxes, and how have we, Your elected officials shown our gratitude to You for Your sacrifices? It shames me to admit that we, Your elected officials, have done everything in our perverted power to stop You from being resourceful and self sufficient. Would it do any good if I said, from the bottom of my heart, that, "I'm sorry"?

No? Okay, then I will continue with the confession.

There have been some common-sense folks over the years who have attempted to use home-brewed alcohol for transportation fuel. Henry Ford's first car - the Model T - was built to use alcohol fuel because as he said, "There are more stills in America than gas stations."

Of course, that was before we, Your elected officials passed Prohibition and it then became a federal crime for You to make alcohol fuel. And, over the years there have been other American Citizens who have championed this home-brewed vehicle fuel, but we, Your elected officials have used our perverted power and the main-stream media to paint those Citizens as Kooks, Hippies and Tree Huggers. We have managed to keep it very quiet but it is a fact that the Indy 500 race cars use alcohol fuel. It's better for their engines and not combustible like gasoline in case of a wreck. We know it, they know it, but we don't want You to know it.

It's also a fact that Brazil is totally independent of petroleum as they began using alcohol fuel made from sugar cane way back in the 1980's and it is required that Ford and GM plants in Brazil make only vehicles that can be run on alcohol instead of gasoline. It is also a fact that Brazil recently discovered a huge off-shore oil field that they will develop in order to sell to You, the American Citizen, petroleum for gasoline in Your cars. It is also a fact that we, Your elected officials, won't allow Ford and GM to make alcohol fueled cars here in America because we won't be able to continue to collect our campaign donations (see Bribes) from the oil companies.

Another crime that we, Your elected officials, have committed against You and America is to pass the law allowing mega-corp farming interests to put their land in Soil Bank. By letting that land sit idle and un-used the mega-corp farming interests collect Your tax-dollars instead of cultivating crops that could be used to make alcohol fuel.

As Your President, I don't personally own any of that land - (pause to scratch head and look confused) - I don't think I do, but of course my wealth is in a blind trust and I'm not sure how it's invested? Anyway, many of my fellow politicians do own or have interests in land that is Soil Bank'ed and they would not be able to collect Your tax-dollars if that land was used to grow crops for alcohol fuel. That wouldn't be good for them, but it's a crime against You.

In conclusion, we Your elected officials, have sinned against You and against America. We have done everything in our perverted power to put roadblocks in Your way to keep You from being resoureful and self sufficient. It is my grave duty to inform You of the consequenses of our actions. The US Greenback, the American Dollar is now no good. The other countries of the world are getting out of dollars as fast as they can, the new petro-dollar is now the King of the Hill. Hyper-inflation will now take hold of the American economy and Your Life, Your Liberty and Your Pursuit of Happiness - the Principles of the American Constitution - will become just a fond memory.

All because we, Your elected officials, wanted campaign donations (see Bribes) and the perverted power of office, instead of peace and prosperity for America and the Citizens of America. So, on behalf of myself and my fellow politicians, please allow me to say, "I'm sorry" that we have sinned against You and against America.

Review of actual speech:
1. Lots of talk about good energy things that might, could, hopefully, maybe happen in 5 - 10 - 15 -20 years from now, but what about this spring, the next growing season.
2. Lots of talk about the "Electric Car" of the future. Did you hear anything about how to make that electricity? Coal, nuclear, pie in the sky? All of which are not good for the environment or Your wallet.
3. Fix the Debt? Freeze annual Domestic Spending? Painful cuts? Did you notice the lack of applause in the audience? Do you really think the Porkers will go for this?
4. Tax cuts for the wealthy? That's just talk.
5. Fix the IRS Tax Code? That'll be the day.
6. Lots of talk about the Internet. Try filling up your car gas tank with your modem cable.
7. Lots of talk about both sides of the aisle working together. Huh, the goal of each side is to just get re-elected, not work jointly because that will only help the other side get re-elected.
8. 100,000 American soldiers left Iraq with their heads held high? Yes, they did their job, but it was the politicians who got them in that mess and it's the politicians who are greasing words, spinning facts and covering their butts. The fact is that this war has only served to create more terrorism. For every Iraqi killed there is a son, brother, nephew, niece, cousin, daughter, father, mother, uncle and aunt who has become an enemy. You cannot change people's hearts and minds by the barrel of a gun.
9. Lots of talk about the freedoms of people's around the world. Freedom isn't Free, you got to be willing to fight for it, because there will always be a minority group of megalomaniacs who want to bend your will to their wishes and greeds.
10. In summary: a good pep talk but not one word about solving 70% of our problems by the growing of our own fuel, in our own fields. Why not? What's wrong with that picture?

Much analysis: the President's demeanor; the color of his necktie; the salmon joke; speech broken down into concept and approach; broken down into the meaning and do-ability of each paragraph and sentence; commentary on who will buy what, dependant upon whether they are an elephant or a donkey; some talk, not much, about the hazards of our energy dependency but not one word about home-grown fuel - which leads us to the conclusion that -
3. The Mainstream Media is right there in collusion with the Plot-ti-ti-cians when it comes to making America Energy Independent.
4. Which means they are all being bought off by Big Oil.
5. Which means that We are on Our own Folks. If we don't do it, it ain't gonna happen. So, what are we waiting for?
